Thank you UBTECH for sponsoring this post. JIMU Robots are a fun way to bring robotics into kid’s day to day and make the perfect gift you can feel good about gifting to the children in your lives this holiday season!
I am always on the lookout for fun and educational STEM gifts for my kids that hold their interest day after day, week after week, month after month. When I was presented with the opportunity to partner with JIMU Robot I jumped at the chance! I’m glad that I did. My kids have thoroughly enjoyed building and playing with the robot. It’s a perfect way to teach coding for kids in such a fun way they don’t even realize how much they are learning!
Building the Robot
JIMU is a fun, exciting robot that kids 8+ can build, code, and play with. One of the things I have enjoyed the most about JIMU is that it is so user friendly and intuitive. My nine-year-old and seven-year-old assembled the robot and learned how to code with it with absolutely no guidance from me!
They spent a few hours following the easy instructions from the app to assemble the DozerBot first. It was such a sweet activity for them to work together on. They took turns being the Piece Finder and the Builder and worked so harmoniously and energetically to finish their robot!
The entire family joined in the fun. Even the three-year-old came over to see what she could do to “help”.
Coding for Kids
After building the robots, the playing continues with their free app!
The kids dove right in to see what they could program the robot to do. At first they just explored the different movements that are already programmed in.
It didn’t take the kids long to build a small obstacle course and string code together to make their DozerBot zip through it! They were so delighted.
I was so amazed watching how easily the kids came up with new ideas to try. The JIMU Robot really gives them the confidence to program long strings of code, to experiment with the limits of the robot, and to create new and interesting tasks for it to do!
